Liberty 011

KS4 Examinations / GCSEs

Increasingly, students now have to prepare for more exams, especially with the removal (or reduction) of coursework in many subjects.

Liberty Academy ensures support and guidance is in place to help students achieve their goals and full potential.

In order to support students fully, the academy has a range of support services available, which include:

  • Supported Private Study (SPS) or Lesson 6 after each academy day with the subject teachers and intervention.
  • Lunchtime revision sessions to each to teach key revision techniques with the Year 11 progress team.
  • Half-term revision sessions with subject teachers.

The academy ensures all students are aware of the resources available to support during exam preparation.

Useful Resources

GCSE Pod

GCSE Pod is an online revision platform that contains over 6,000 'Pods', which are 3-5 minute videos packed with course content for the subjects your child is studying. As well as the Pods there are a host of Student Learning Activities which are designed to help students commit that content to their long-term memory. In addition, there is a Check & Challenge tool which provides quizzes for your child to test their knowledge on. Check & Challenge provides scaffolded support through hints, multiple choice options and feedback statements which help to consolidate learning and build students’ confidence.

Each student has a username and password. If they have forgotten it, students should speak with their tutor who can tell them their password. In addition, if parents / carers have any questions or would like support with GCSE Pod, please email Mrs Stephenson at k.stephenson@lib.hlt.academy.

Certificates

All students receive certificates directly from the academy when released from the Examination Board and you will be contacted when these are available to collect.  This information will also be posted on the Academy's Facebook page.

We are required to hold certificates for 1 year only, after which they will either be securely destroyed or returned to the relevant awarding body.  Upon receipt of any certificates please ensure these are kept safe at all times as these are valuable.

In the event certificates are misplaced or damaged, a charge will be made to the individual by the awarding body for any replacements or statement of results.

To request a replacement certificate or certified statement of results,  you will need to contact the relevant awarding body directly.  If you are unsure which awarding body you sat an exam with, please email exams@lib.hlt.academy.

Information about replacement certificates for each awarding body can be found on their websites using the links below;
